Hello, I’m Jasmine! I was raised on a small island in the Pacific Northwest, but my sense of adventure brought me to Eastern Washington, Long Beach, California, and now Buffalo, New York! My art reflects the environments I emerge myself in, although I am currently working a lot lately with figure paintings of the female body.
I began my painting career in high school where I spent most of my time in the art room, and put all my efforts into mastering each painting. I was chosen to create the high school mural with the help and mentorship of my favorite teacher Mrs. Dubin. Learning from her, I decided I wanted to continue my art career with everything she had taught me and enrolled at Washington State University where I graduated with a bachelors in Fine Arts.
My focus has been on the intersections of landscapes and abstractions, creating space and distance that feels familiar to the world around us, with a style based in fauvism and surrealism and a touch of whimsical enthusiasm.
